PUBLIC ADOPTION INTERACTIONS

Thank you for your interest in adopting from SEAACA. We have a variety of wonderful, adoptable pets. No appointment is needed to request animal interactions. Interactions are, first come, first served. To start the interaction process, simply check-in at the main office during Interaction Hours. After signing in, you will be provided with an Interaction Waiver to complete. Once the waiver is completed by all ten (10) year and older individuals interested in interacting, a SEAACA staff member will facilitate the interaction of the adoptable animal(s) in the designated interaction area(s).

Most adoptable animals that cleared the mandated holding period are available for interaction(s). The duration of each interaction is at the discretion of SEAACA’s team members depending on the number of interactions requested on any given day.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

We care deeply for your safety, the safety of the team and the safety of the animals in our care. Some animals may not be available for interactions based on their current status, health and behavior. In addition to SEAACA’s team member, there is a two (2) person limit per interaction. Children under the age of ten (10) years are not allowed in the interaction areas. Children under the age of ten (10) years cannot be left unattended outside of the interaction area; please plan accordingly.

When interacting with animals, do not make any sudden movements or loud sounds. Calmly interact with the pet. Never put your face close to the pet’s face. In the best interest of the animals, do not feed them in or out of the kennels at the Care Center.

AVAILABILITY OF INTERACTIONS

While we make every effort possible to provide interactions, due to circumstances beyond our control, animal interactions may be limited and/or not available.

Hi,
My name is Buddy and I am a Golden Retriever. I am owned by a very special lady. She came to SEAACA because she wanted to add a member to her family. She looked long and hard to find just the right dog who would be a good companion. She adopted me from SEAACA and I got to go home with her.

We take walks and play with my toys every day. She feeds me good healthy dog food and I have plenty of water all the time. SEAACA made sure I have a license and a micro-chip, so if I ever get lost I can find my way home. My owner takes me to the veterinarian for regular check-ups.

Her parents have two other Golden Retrievers who also came from SEAACA. My owner and I visit them on the weekends and I get to play with my friends.

The most important gift that both my owner and I got at SEAACA is each other. We are best friends.

There are so many dogs like me, cats and other animals at SEAACA just waiting for someone to adopt them and take them home. There are big ones, small ones, young ones and older ones-all waiting for someone like you.

So, here are a few of my animal friends—"Buddy's Pets of the Week". Also, click on the Petfinder tab and see other animals that could join your family.

Thanks for helping my friends on their way to forever homes!!!!!!

Buddy

Animal Foster Care

SEAACA operates a progressive foster care program for animals either too young or too sick to be kenneled with the rest of the shelter population. We work with dozens of breed-rescue groups who help us find homes for harder-to-place animals. We are committed to placing animals and caring for them until they can be placed in forever homes.
